MANNING - Clarendon County Farm Bureau and local Farm Bureau Insurance agents are bringing a little more joy to this holiday season by helping those in the community facing financial or medical hardships.
The local office donated a total of $1,500 and presented a $500 check to three charities: Turbeville Children's Home, South Carolina Free Will Baptist Disaster Relief and United Ministries of Clarendon County.
"I am so proud to be a part of a company and organization that believes in helping others and giving back to our communities," said Wayne McKenzie, Farm Bureau Insurance agency manager. "We are truly blessed to be able to be a blessing to others."
The Turbeville Children's Home donation will help provide gifts, clothing and other necessities to the home's residents. The United Ministries of Clarendon County donation will help pay for meals for those less fortunate in the community this holiday season. Lastly, the South Carolina Free Will Baptist Disaster Relief donation will help with the ongoing Hurricane Helene relief efforts in North Carolina.
The donation is part of a company-sponsored holiday community outreach program called Farm Bureau Cares. Through Farm Bureau Cares, county Farm Bureau offices across South Carolina provide a monetary donation during December to help a family or charity of their choice. Farm Bureau Insurance matches each donation made by the local County Farm Bureau and agents.
Farm Bureau Cares donated more than $33,800 statewide to assist charities and countless individuals this holiday season.
