FLOREE EVANS GRANT

Floree Evans Grant was born on May 3, 1937, in Sumter, a daughter of the late Lucious Sr. and Sarah Regular Evans. She departed this earthly life on Thursday, Sept. 24, 2020, at Bradford Oaks Nursing Home, Clinton, Maryland.

She was united in holy matrimony to the late Louis Grant. She was blessed with two daughters, Yvonne Evans Maple of Dalzell and Janice Grant (Joe) Ramseur of Brandywine, Maryland. She was educated in the public schools of Sumter and graduated in 1955 from Lincoln High School in Sumter. She furthered her education at tech (Central Carolina) and received a secretarial degree. She was employed by Randolph General Construction Co. as the office secretary, until her health began to decline. She accepted the Lord as her personal savior and joined St. James United Methodist Church, where she served in many areas of the church: church secretary, church historian, she sang with the mass choir, and other official positions. She loved her church.

Public viewing will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. today at Job's Mortuary.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday at Dick's Cemetery in Sumter.

In accordance with COVID-19 guidelines, the family requests no visitation at the home.

Job's Mortuary Inc., 312 S. Main St., Sumter, is in charge of arrangements.
