Former S.C. Lt. Gov. Ken Ard and 'The Rev' Baker come to WDXY with the Wake Up Carolina show

Community Broadcasters recently announced its launch of the Live 95 News Talk Network with the morning show Wake Up Carolina hosted by former South Carolina Lt. Gov. Ken Ard.

Ard and Dave "The Rev" Baker have hosted Wake Up Pee Dee on Live 95, WFRK 95.3, on the Florence airwaves since August 2012. The show is being relaunched as Wake Up Carolina and is expanding to the Sumter radio market on WDXY, 1240 AM and 105.9 FM.

In a statement from Community Broadcasters, the creation of the Live 95 News Talk Network aims to continue its commitment to the communities of South Carolina. Bruce J. Mittman, CEO of Community Broadcasters LLC, said "this is an exciting expansion of our News/Talk capability and the first market to be added to the network." President Jim Leven added, "We're excited to be able to showcase former Lt. Gov. Ken Ard to more of South Carolina with his unique perspective on what is happening both politically and in general in the Palmetto State. We look forward to expanding the conversation to more South Carolinians."
