FLORENCE, SC – Francis Marion University point guard Kiara Croskey has been named the Conference Carolinas women's basketball Freshman of the Month for November.
Croskey, the former Sumter High star, started all six games in November and averaged 34.9 minutes per game. She averaged 10.5 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 4.5 assists per contest, while shooting 48.9 percent from the floor and 80.0 percent from the free throw stripe. She also registered a team-high 14 steals over the opening six games.
She scored in double figures four times, including a pair of 14-point outings. She was named the conference’s Defensive Player of the Week for the opening week of the season.
She has helped lead Francis Marion to a 6-1 record, the program’s best start in nine seasons. FMU is among the other teams receiving votes in the latest D2CSC Top 25 poll.
The Patriots are currently in their exam break and will return to action on Dec. 14 with a conference road game at Barton College.
Croskey is a product of Sumter High School and is majoring in biology.
