FRANCES EDNA ODOM BROACH

Frances Edna Odom Broach died on Wednesday, May 15, 2019, at 101 years of age, in Maple Grove, Minnesota.

Born in Alcolu, she was a daughter of the late Leroy and Frances Witherspoon Odom. Mrs. Broach was a resident of Columbus, Indiana, for 31 years. While there, she was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, serving in many positions, and was a charter member of the Women's Society of Christian Service. She was also active in 4-H and Girl Scouts. She moved to Tokyo, Japan, with her husband and, while there, studied art. She also studied art at the University of Kentucky, the University of Tennessee and the University of South Carolina. She and her husband retired to Sumter, where she became a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the Trinity Fellowship Class. She remained active in each until she moved to Minnesota in 2002.

She is survived by a daughter, Charlotte Broach (Pat Schachern) of Maple Grove; three grandchildren, Kelley Hartman (Shane Hartman) of Fridley, Minnesota, Matthew Awde of St. Louis Park, Minnesota, and Vanessa Lenzmeier (Kevin Lenzmeier) of Lakeville, Minnesota; two great-grandchildren, Madison Lenzmeier and Connor Lenzmeier of Lakeville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Miriam C. Broach; four sisters, Rae Plowden, Lorena Fann, Lucile Johnson and Mary Ellenberger; and three brothers, Harold Odom, Alvin Odom and E.W. Odom.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday in the chapel of Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home.

Burial will be at the Trinity United Methodist Church Cemetery in Alcolu.
