FRANCES MARION BATEMAN CANTLON

Frances Marion Bateman Cantlon, 94, widow of George Edward Cantlon, was promoted to heaven from earth on Friday, Aug. 23, 2019.

Born Sept. 26, 1924, in Paxville, she was the only daughter of the late Robert Lee Bateman and Dora Gamble Bateman Rodgers. She was a charter member of Faith Outreach Assembly of God and attended Smithville Pentecostal Church.

Survivors include four children, Sharon Christmas (J.M.), Connie Davis, George E. Cantlon Jr. (Missy) and Rhonda Bowman (Roy); grandchildren, Becky McDaniel (Ronald), Denise Robinson (Kevin), Kimberly Afify (Faisal), Tammy Floyd (Samuel), Angie Farris (James), George E. Cantlon III, Sheri Morris (Danny), Daniel Cantlon, Mandy Manthei, Bryan Bowman (Robin) and Brandon Bowman (Mary); and numerous great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her stepmother, Lizzie Nunnery Bateman; stepfather, Hugo Bernard Rodgers; sister, Audrey Bateman Stevenson; brothers, David Lee Bateman and Robert Stanley Bateman; a son, Robert Thornal Cantlon; grandson, Robert Thornal Cantlon Jr.; daughter-in-law, Patsy Hutson Cantlon; and son-in-law, Dennie Willard Davis.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Lloyd Morgan and the Rev. Ronnie Morris officiating. Burial will be at Paxville Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Elliott Davis, Ronald McDaniel, Kevin Robinson, Bryan Bowman, Brandon Bowman, George Cantlon III and Daniel Cantlon.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home of Rhonda and Roy Bowman.
