FRANCES VAN BUREN WASHINGTON

Apostle Frances Van Buren Washington was born on Dec. 11, 1957, to Modestine Rose Van Buren and the late Willie Van Buren Jr.

She departed this life on Tuesday, June 30, 2020, at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital.

Frances grew up in Sumter County and received her education from the public schools of Sumter County. She continued her education at Sumter Beauty College and became a master beautician. Frances began her Christian walk at St. Paul AME Church. When the family moved to Sumter, she joined Union Station AME Church. She heard the call from Christ to move into ministry and connected herself with Fellowship Outreach Ministry under the leadership of Apostle Virnetta J. Bennett Evans. Under Apostle Bennett, she grew in her ministry and love for Christ, where she was ordained as pastor. She continued to grow in the faith and ministry, and God led her to start a new house for him, FullProof Deliverance Healing Ministry.

Frances started her career as a beautician, a seamstress, a realtor agent and event planner. She also was one of the first employees of Quick Refund Tax Service. She was co-owner of "Designs by Devine" Floral Arrangements and Decorations.

Public viewing will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. on Sunday at Job's Mortuary.

Pastor Washington will be placed in the church at 10 a.m. on Monday for viewing until the hour of service.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday at Salem Chapel & Heritage Center, 101 S. Salem Ave., Sumter, SC 29150 with Dr. Carolyn Robinson officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends at the home, 528 Kingsbury Drive, Sumter, SC 29150.

Job's Mortuary Inc., 312 S. Main St., Sumter, is in charge of arrangements.
