Free COVID-19 vaccine clinics offered in Bishopville on Dec. 16, Manning on Dec. 18

The South Carolina Department of Education will host two free COVID-19 vaccine clinics in Lee County on Thursday and in Clarendon County on Saturday.

SCDOE partnered with the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control for the In It To Win It vaccination initiative to support local school districts, encourage vaccinations and provide information and resources to residents.

LEE

Only 49% of Lee County residents have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine compared to 76% throughout the nation, according to DHEC.

Lee County residents can receive the vaccine today, Dec. 16, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m at Lee Central Middle School, 41 Charlenes Lane in Bishopville. Children ages 5 to 11 can receive either their first or second dose of the Pfizer vaccine, and those 12 years and older can receive their booster dose of the Pfizer vaccine. Recipients will be entered for a chance to win a Lenovo laptop, Apple Air pods, Logitech gaming headset or Insignia 2.0 soundbar.

CLARENDON

Only 56% of Clarendon County residents have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine compared to 76% throughout the nation, according to DHEC.

Clarendon County residents can receive the vaccine Saturday, Dec. 18, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Providence AME Church, 2425 Mallet Road in Manning. Children ages 5 to 11 can receive their first dose of the Pfizer vaccine, and adults 18 years and older will be able to receive their first or second dose of the Moderna vaccine or the one-shot Johnson & Johnson vaccine. Pfizer and Moderna booster shots will also be available at both clinics.
