FUMIKO MURAKAMI RICHARDSON

Fumiko Murakami Richardson, age 90, died on Friday, Jan. 27, 2023, at her home.

Mrs. Richardson was born in Oita Ken, Japan, and was the youngest daughter of Masao and Yuru Murakami of Japan. She was the wife of the late Leroy D Richardson, who retired from Shaw Air Force Base in 1976. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her talents were oil painting, sewing, crocheting and baking cakes. But she loved spending time with family and her grandchildren most. She was a gentle soul and had great compassion for all living things. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will always be remembered and missed dearly.

Survivors are two daughters, Margie R. Chappell and Karen Richardson, both of Sumter; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leroy D. Richardson; and a daughter, Joann Y. Richardson.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday at Evergreen Memorial Park cemetery.

The family will receive from 10 a.m. to noon on Wednesday at Bullock Funeral Home.
