Gable man suspected in non-fatal shooting in Sumter

Sumter police are searching for a man suspected of attempted murder following a shooting Wednesday night that left a man with injuries.

Warrants have been issued for Michael Raheim Lucas, 23, whose last known address is on Boise Lewis Road in Gable. According to Tonyia McGirt, public information officer for the Sumter Police Department, Lucas is accused of shooting a 29-year-old acquaintance during an argument outside a residence on Pinson Street.

Police were responding to a call about shots being fired after 10:50 p.m. when an officer spotted a vehicle headed from the area toward Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital. Once there, a gunshot victim was taken into the hospital for treatment before being released.

Lucas is described as 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighs about 160 pounds and has black hair and brown eyes.
