GEORGE HOWARD RAGIN

On Friday, July 31, 2020, George Howard Ragin, husband of Mirrel Richburg Simms Ragin, "Thelma," exchanged his rugged cross for his precious crown at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital in Sumter.

Born on Sept. 19, 1938, in the St. Paul Community of Summerton, he was a son of the late Preston and Rosa Canty Ragin.

Graveside services will take place on Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Ragin family plot in the Historic Liberty Hill AME Church Cemetery, 2310 Liberty Hill Church Road, Summerton, where the Rev. Dr. Bernard Richburg will preside. The Rev. Archie Temoney will bring words of encouragement.

Public viewing will take place this afternoon from 4 to 6 p.m. at Fleming & DeLaine Chapel, 222 W. Boyce St.

In accordance with the requirements given by the CDC in reference to the COVID-19 pandemic, the family is not receiving relatives and friends at the residence.
