GREENSBORO, Georgia — A 20-year-old Georgia man is wanted in connection with a case of road rage that ended with the April 9 shooting death of 30-year-old Joseph Lee Briggs Jr. of Manning.
On April 10, Georgia authorities issued arrest warrants for felony murder, malice murder and aggravated assault for Deron Demond Bell of Norcross, Georgia. Georgia authorities have asked the public for help in locating Bell.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation, the Greene County Sheriff’s Office and the U.S. Marshals have been actively looking for Bell since Briggs was found shot to death inside his tractor trailer in a wooded area off Interstate 20 near Greensboro.
Briggs was driving his truck westbound on I-20 about 6:45 a.m. April 9 when his truck veered across the eastbound lanes of the interstate and stopped in a wooded area off I-20.
Deputies with the Greene County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene and found Briggs had been shot. The GBI was contacted to take over the case.
