Ida Lee Golden and Alphonso Douglas Golden, both of Sumter, announce the engagement of their daughter, Allicia Marie Golden of Durham, North Carolina, to Derrick Magee, also of Durham, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert L. Magee of Jackson, Mississippi.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Elister Lee Sr., the late Mr. Heyward Douglas Sr. and the late Mrs. Clara Mae Golden, all of Sumter. She graduated from Voorhees College with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice, Concordia University with a Master of Education Leadership and also attended South Carolina State University in the Master of Teaching Program. She is employed as the Default and Financial Literacy Manager at North Carolina Central University and is the owner and CEO of Golden Key 2 Success LLC.

The bridegroom-elect is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Magee of Hattiesburg, Mississippi, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Dampier of New Hebron, Mississippi. He graduated from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University with a degree in Sports and Leisure Management, from California State University with a Master of Business Administration, and expects to graduate with a Doctorate of Business Administration from UNC Charlotte. He is employed as the Deputy Athletics Director / CFO at North Carolina Central University in Durham.

The wedding is planned for Oct. 17, 2021, in Raleigh, North Carolina.
