BISHOPVILLE - A funeral service for Harry Blackwell Boykin Jr., 80, who entered into rest on Sunday, June 20, 2021, will be held at 11 a.m. today at St. Andrew Church of God. The Rev. Scott Hodge, the Rev. Billy and Leanna Roe will officiate with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall immediately following the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the cemetery fund of St. Andrew Church of God, Camden.

Hancock-Elmore-Hill Funeral Directors are caring for the family.

Harry was a son of the late Lesyle and Harry Boykin and Myrtle and Mendel Chewning. He was a graduate of Camden High School and Palmer College. He owned and operated Boykin Farms and was a partner of C&B Gin with his beloved father-in-law, Mendel Chewning. Harry enjoyed a long farming career, including row crop, livestock and poultry. Harry was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a faithful member of St. Andrew Church of God. Harry was a great friend to many and never met a stranger, a true Southern Gentleman. He was an avid gardener and collector.

He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Anne Fields Boykin; children, Richard Boykin (Carol), Shannon Boykin-Begley (Curtis), Staci Boykin-Page (Phillip) and Joel Boykin; five grandsons, Phillip Page, Callen Begley, Law Page, Jackson Boykin and Michael Boykin. He is also survived by his siblings, Hal Boykin (Betty), Trudy Hall, Joan Deal, Carolyn Corbett and Lawrence Chewning (Trish); and numerous nieces and nephews.

Harry was predeceased by his first wife, Linda Chewning Boykin, and their son, Harry Blackwell Boykin III.
