Hazel Forrest Turner, 63, died Thursday, June 11, 2020, at his home in Sumter.

Born in France, he was a son of the late Hazel Clifton Turner and the late Dixie Lee Yarborough Turner. He worked with Sumter Machinery for many years and later owned Turner Welding. He loved welding. After work, he enjoyed sitting in his truck listening to music and drinking. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing and playing pranks on his niece and granddaughter.

Survivors include three children, Clifton Forest Turner, Hazel Amanda Lee and April Mae Turner; three grandchildren, Jamie Autumn Lee, Leona E.L. Rodgers and Elizabeth Cole; one brother, Willie C. Turner (Tammy); his best friend, Mike Geddings; and his dog, Razor.

He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Lexi Kinder, and a sister, Brenda Sue Turner McLeod.

A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday in the Calvary Church Cemetery.

Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements.
