Helen "Drue" Smith, 87, wife of Louis Smith, died on Friday, June 19, 2020, at her home.
Born on June 17, 1933, in Clinton, North Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Jessie and Estell Sloan Lewis. She was a member of Northside Memorial Baptist Church and retired as a USDA inspector.
Survivors include her husband of 66 years; a daughter, Brenda Yates (Michael) of Sumter; and a granddaughter, Erin Yates of Charleston.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Wilma Thompson of Pikeville, North Carolina, and Irene Rumfelt of Clewiston, Florida.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. today at Evergreen Memorial Park cemetery with the Rev. Jimmy Holley officiating.
The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside and other times at the home.

Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements.
