Sumter IB students use new skills in experiment

The International Baccalaureate biology classes visited the Clemson University Life Science Outreach Center to further their understanding of genetically modified organisms and to gain molecular biology laboratory skills. After learning these new skills, they used them to transform E. coli with a gene from jellyfish, leading to colonies that fluorescence under black light.
