COLUMBIA - Nakeem Isaac sank a 3-point basket at the buzzer to lift Sumter High School's varsity boys basketball team to a 49-48 victory in the fifth-place of the Columbia Thanksgiving Classic on Friday at the Keenan High gymnasium.

First-year Sumter head coach Bryan Brown was going up against the Sumter School District rival team he left in Lakewood. The Gators are now under the direction of Ed Scott.
Isaac finished with 17 points to lead the Gamecocks, who improved to 2-1 on the season. Justus Boone added 10 for SHS.
The Gators' Quentin Hodge was the game's leading scorer, finishing with 28 points. LHS dropped to 1-2.
Sumter plays host to Hartsville on Tuesday. The Gamecocks will then travel to Crestwood on Friday before playing Lakewood again on Saturday, Dec. 7, this time at the SHS gymnasium.
That will be the next game for the Gators.
