JAMES ALLEN AMMONS SR.
PINEWOOD — James Allen Ammons Sr., 70, husband of Pat Lee Ammons, died on Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2019, at Summerville Community Hospice House in Summerville.
Mr. Ammons was a member of Pinewood Baptist Church. He was a retired truck driver and was a former coach at several Sumter County schools.
Surviving are his wife of Pinewood; a son, James Ammons III; five daughters, Angie Ammons, Brenda Benedict, April Owens, Stacy Thigpen and Kristen Ammons; two brothers, Jack Ammons (Sonja) and Mickey Ammons (Cindy); a stepson, Robert Sweat; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Pinewood Baptist Church with the Rev. Brian Gray and the Rev. Bennie Barwick officiating. Burial will be at Pinewood Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at the church.
