James Clark, 66, departed this earthly life on Tuesday, April 2, 2019, at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital.

Born on June 14, 1952, in Sumter County, he was a son of the late Joe Nick and Claire Gregg Clark. He was educated in the public schools of Lee County and graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School Class of 1971. He was employed with Santee Print Works for 45 years. James was a member of Mt. Moriah United Methodist Church, where he was a member of the men's choir.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Phyllis Hickmon Clark; two daughters, Tanya (Darryl) Williams and Philene Colclough; three brothers; five sisters; seven grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and close friends.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 2 to 8 p.m. at the home, 3275 Darlington Highway, Sumter.

Funeral services will be held at noon on Saturday at Unionville AME Church, 1330 Swimming Pen Road, Mayesville, with the Rev. Alvin E. Webb, pastor, and the Rev. Larry Clark (nephew), eulogist.

The remains will be place in the church at 11 a.m. for viewing until the hour of service.

The funeral procession will leave at 11:20 a.m. from the home.

Burial will be at the Mt. Moriah United Methodist Church Cemetery, 1379 Swimming Pen Road, Mayesville.
