JAMES GENERETTE JR.

James "Son" Generette Jr., 74, was born on Sept. 2, 1945, in Sumter County, a son of the late James "Ting" and Judie Windham Gerette. He departed this earthly life on Monday, Aug. 10, 2020, at his home.

James was educated in the public schools of Sumter County. He was employed at Blue Ridge Transfer and later employed by McLaughlin Ford, until he retired in 2010.

James leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Ellen Nora McGill Generette of Sumter; one sister, Katie (Luther) Wells of Sumter; one brother, Sammie (Betty) Generette; his only grandson, Carzelle Generette; one daughter-in-law, Katherine Hunter Generette; a special niece and caregiver, Tonya Edwards of the home; a host of nieces, nephews, in-laws, other relatives and friends.

The family is receiving relatives and friends at the home, 3 Shuler Drive, Sumter.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Ebenezer Presbyterian Church USA, 4620 Queen Chapel Road, Dalzell, with Pastor Maurice Wells officiating.

The procession will leave at 10:20 a.m. from the home.
