JAMES HENRY ELLIS SIMS

James "Jamie" Henry Ellis Sims, 56, husband of Debbie Geddings Sims, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2020.

Born on April 4, 1964, in Sumter, he was a son of the late James Sims and Deana Coker Pemberton. He was a member of Green Acres Assembly of God and was employed by Asplundh Tree Co.

Survivors include his wife of 39 years; two children, Jason Sims and Stephanie McCormick (Richard), both of Sumter; grandchildren, Landon Sims, Aaron Sims, Caleb Sims, Jacob Birchfield, Lane Sims, Matthew McCormick and Tayleigh McCormick; and two brothers, Craig Pemberton and P.J. Pemberton, both of New York.

A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Green Acres Assembly of God with the Rev. Michael Bowman and the Rev. Sammy Geddings officiating. Burial will be at Green Acres Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Matthew McCormick, Justin Sauls, Buddy Sauls, Chris Catoe, Thomas Catoe and Michael Corbett.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday at Green Acres Assembly of God and other times at the home.
