James Jeffrey "Jeff" Timmons, 65, widower of Italia Tamara Timmons, died Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2021, at Lexington Medical Center.

Born Feb. 2, 1956, in Sumter, he was a son of the late James Lemar Timmons and Margaret "Peggy" Dickerson Timmons. Mr. Timmons retired from Union Camp Corp. (now International Paper). He was a member of Riverside Hunting Club, where he served as the hunt master for 21 years.

Survivors include two children, Kalya Timmons Hamilton (Jason) of Horatio and John Russell Timmons (Megan) of Sumter; three granddaughters, Kaileigh Hamilton, Ashley Hamilton Parker (Caleb) and Ellie Addison Timmons; a great-granddaughter, Maci Parker; one sister, Frankie Lyles of Sumter; one brother, Hank Timmons (Trish) of Sumter; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Paul Goff officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Hank Timmons, Ryan Timmons, Jamie Player, Chris Richburg, Raynor Golston, Bryan Ridgeway and Nic Marshall.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home of his son and daughter-in-law, 131 Henrietta St.

Memorials may be sent to the Alzheimer's Association, 4124 Clemson Blvd., Suite L, Anderson, SC 29621, in memory of Jeff and Italia Timmons.
