PINEWOOD - James Lawson Sr., 85, died on Sunday, Jan. 6, 2019.

He was a son of the late Tom and Helen Mitchell Lawson.

Wake services will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. today at Hayes F. Samuels Sr. Memorial Chapel, 114 N. Church St., Manning.

Funeral services for Mr. Lawson will be held at noon on Saturday at Liberty Hill AME Church, Summerton, with the Rev. Robert L. China Jr., pastor, officiating, and the Rev. Lawrence Myers Sr., Bishop Powell Hampton and the Rev. Theola Parker assisting. Burial will follow at the churchyard cemetery.

The family is receiving friends at his residence, 1377 Orange Drive, Pinewood.
