WEST MEMPHIS, Ark. - James R. Evans Jr., 75, of Cordova, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2018, in Memphis, Tennessee.

James was a retired navigator and master sergeant with the United States Marine Corps and the United States Air Force 9th U.S. CENTAF as a budget analyst with Shaw Air Force Base. He was an avid fisherman and loved working in his yard. He was a huge fan of the Dallas Cowboys and NASCAR racing and he enjoyed traveling the country to see and meet the drivers.

James is survived by his loving wife, Sandra; his sons, Marty Jaeger of Cordova, James Evans III of Reno, Nevada, and Mike Evans of Sumter; his daughters, Amber Ivey of Sacramento, California, Beth Schudel of Lakeland, Tennessee, and Carrie McFarland of Colorado Springs, Colorado; his brothers, Charlie Evans of Lake Ivy, Texas, and Harold Evans of Titusville, Florida; his sister, Billie Milsteed of Ringole, Georgia; 16 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Sr. and Paulene Evans; and two grandchildren, Micha and Isabel.

A graveside service with military honors will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday at Crittenden Memorial Park, 2206 Hwy. 64, Marion, Arkansas, to honor James.
