JAN SURBER MCCORD

MANNING - Jan Surber McCord, 72, wife of James B. McCord Jr., died on Wednesday, July 1, 2020, at McLeod Hospice House.

Born on April 19, 1948, in Sumter, she was a daughter of Imo Jane "Jean" Shealy Surber and the late Richard Edward Surber. She was a member of New Covenant Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by her husband and her mother of Manning; a son, James Bryson McCord III of Georgetown; a daughter, Margaret M. "Karen" Thompson of Manning; nine grandchildren, Jared Thompson, Joshua Thompson, Rachel McCord, Warren McCord, Sarah McCord, Shealy McCord, Andrew McCord, Isaac McCord and Allie McCord; and a sister, Barbara Gawler (Ken) of Myrtle Beach.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 200 Center Point Circle, Suite 100, Columbia, SC 29210 or to New Covenant Presbyterian Church, 2833 Alex Harvin Highway, Manning, SC 29102.
