JENNY DAVIS DENNIS

Posted

Jenny Davis Dennis, 73, beloved wife of 54 years to Danny Dennis, passed away peacefully into the waiting arms of her Savior on Wednesday, April 16, 2025. A true force of nature for good, Jenny’s life was defined by compassion, strength and unwavering faith.
Jenny dedicated over 16 years of her life to hospice and caregiving — a calling she embraced with her whole heart. She cared deeply for the elderly, the less fortunate, or anyone she saw in need. Her devotion to her church, The Church of the Holy Comforter in Sumter, was constant, and she loved to invite others to attend. Above all, Jenny found her greatest joy in her grandchildren, who were the center of her world. A tough, hardworking Southern woman, she was fiercely loyal. If Jenny was in your corner, you had a champion. Her family takes immense pride in the legacy of love and strength she leaves behind.
Surviving in addition to her husband are her children, Denny Dennis of Sumter, Davis Dennis and his wife, Vanessa, of James Island, and Jenny-Lee Maxwell and her husband, Matthew, of Greenville. She was the proud grandmother of Travers and Loyall Dennis and Drayton, Davis and Oliver Maxwell. Jenny is also survived by her brother, Julius Davis, of Columbia, and her sister, Patty Smith of Atlanta, Georgia. She also leaves behind her beloved Jack Russells Franklin and Harry, who were her faithful companions.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Julius and Helen Davis of Dalzell.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at 2 p.m. at The Church of the Holy Comforter. Burial will be private.
The family will receive friends on Monday, April 21, 2025, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Bullock Funeral Home.
