JEREMIAH OLIVER JR.

Jeremiah Oliver Jr. was born on Dec. 13, 1947, in St. Paul, to the late Jeremiah Sr. and Rebecca Stinney Oliver.

Jeremiah, affectionately called "Junior," was the husband of the late Oliva Stukes Oliver for more than 47 years.

In addition to his wife, Jeremiah Jr. was preceded in death by a sister, Daisy Oliver; and a brother-in-law Christopher Foye.

He departed this life on Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2019, in Sumter.

He leaves to cherish his loving memories: a sister, Mary Oliver Foye; a brother, Moses (Marie) Oliver; four daughters, Sherva Dean Billie (Robert) Parker, Melissa Oliver, Melinda (Gary) Elliott and Patricia Oliver; three sons, Josh (Geneva) Billy, James (Fashonda) Oliver and Jeremiah (Kimberly) Oliver III; 17 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a special cousin, Irene Lawson (Argo) Hill; three sisters-in-law, Essie Mae Wells, Ruth Ann Johnson and Cynthia Johnson; three brothers-in-law, John Henry Stukes (Gladys), Willie Fare Stukes (Beulah) and David S. Johnson; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday at St. Paul Holiness Church, 129 1/2 W. Moore St., Sumter, with Elder Barrington Pierson, pastor, and the Rev. James Oliver, eulogist.

A public viewing will be held from 1 to 6 p.m. today at the mortuary.

The family is receiving friends at 1270 Pinewood Road, Sumter.
