JESSE ENGLISH MCLEOD
PINEWOOD — Jesse English McLeod, 69, husband of Margie Gainey McLeod, died on Saturday, Oct. 30, 2021, at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital.
Born on Oct. 22, 1952, in Sumter, he was a son of the late Jim Henry and Mary Bertha English "Polly" McLeod. He was the owner and operator of Vestco Properties, and he was a member of Calvary Church of the Nazarene. His biggest enjoyment was going hunting and fishing with his grandchildren. He enjoyed managing his properties and collecting antiques. He was an inspiration and mentor to many and encouraged them to grow closer to Christ.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years of Pinewood; two daughters, Pam Johnson of Pinewood and Stacey Christmas (Steve) of Sumter; five grandchildren, Trevor and Laurel Christmas, Stephen, Steve and Savannah Johnson; four brothers, Larry "Butch" McLeod (LaNelle) of Sumter, Jim Henry McLeod Jr. (Kathy) of Pinewood, Stanley Earl McLeod (Mechele) of Greenville and Mark Anthony McLeod of Pinewood; three sisters, Shirley McLeod Walton of Sumter, Louise McLeod Geddings (A.L.) of West Columbia and Joy McLeod Clemmons (Jackie) of Sumter; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Skyler Lane Johnson; a son-in-law, Stephen Lamar "Sparky" Johnson Jr.; two brothers-in-law, Bobby Walton and Danny Gainey; a sister-in-law, Bonnie McLeod; a nephew, Jason Walton; and a niece, Ginger McLeod.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at Calvary Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. Arthur Sharpe and the Rev. Dr. Spencer Jordan officiating. Burial will follow at Pinewood Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Eric Brown, Cameron Corbett, Joey Gainey, Cameron McLeod, C.J. McLeod, Tyler McLeod, Westley Osteen, Shane Walton, Wade Walton and Randy Wright.
The family will receive friends at the residence, 3560 Cody Road, Pinewood.
