JOELLA CAMPBELL RIGBY

Joella Campbell Rigby, 89, widow to James William Rigby, died Saturday, April 27, 2024, at NHC Healthcare-Sumter.

Affectionately known as "Tiddley" to family, she was born in Sumter and was the only daughter of the late James Boykin Campbell and Sibbie Mary Campbell. Mrs. Rigby was a member of Alice Drive Baptist Church, where she was faithfully involved prior to her decline in health. She and her husband served as respite care for several years at Solomons Home in Sumter. Mrs. Rigby was a devoted employee at Bell South for many years, where she left a lasting impact on colleagues and clients alike.

Surviving are second cousins, Charles Hubert "Hugh" Hill (Ellen), Harold "Gene" Hill and Barbara Hill St. Clair (Mark), and third cousins Renee Windham Hudson, Brian Hill, David Hill, Whittni Hill Milhorn, Alexis Christine Hill, Justin Zeke Hill and Autumn St. Clair Longo (Frank). Mrs. Rigby will be deeply missed by all who knew her, including Tara Cusumano (David) and her mother, Linda Price, who were like family to her.

She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Mary Jo Rigby, and second cousins Margaret Hill Windham and Charles Edward "Eddie" Hill Jr.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday in Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Sumter Cemetery.
