John Allen Doran, age 89, beloved husband of the late Beulah Guy Doran, died on Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2019, at his residence.
Born in Indian Springs, Tennessee, he was a son of the late Richard O. and Anna Strickler Doran. John honorably served in the military for more than 30 years and retired from the U.S. Air Force as a technical sergeant and jet tech. He went on to work for Color-Fi, where he also retired. He was an avid fisherman and loved spending time with his family. John will be remembered as a loving husband, father, brother, papaw and friend.
Surviving are one son, James Allen Doran; two daughters, Judy McLeod and Phyllis Shirah and her husband, Bobby, all of Sumter; one brother, Peter Doran and his wife, Mudge, of Blountville, Tennessee; and four grandchildren, Michael, Ashlyn, Hailee and Destinee.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers and a son-in-law, Mike McLeod.
A graveside service with full military honors will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday at Sumter Cemetery.
