JOHN LARRY YATES

John Larry Yates, 70, husband of Lelia Mae Durant Yates, was born on Aug. 4, 1950, in Sumter, a son of the late James and Carrie Peterson Yates. He departed this life on Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2021, at Duke University Hospital in Durham, North Carolina.

Public viewing will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Job's Mortuary Annex.

Mr. Yates will be placed in the church at noon on Saturday for viewing until the hour of service.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday at Alice Drive Baptist Church, 1305 Loring Mill Road, Sumter, SC 29150. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park.

Job's Mortuary Inc., 312 S. Main St., Sumter, is in charge of arrangements.
