JOHNNIE LEE GREGGS

Johnnie Lee Greggs was born on June 22, 1953, in Sumter, a son of Claudia Linton Gregg and the late Willie Gregg. On Thursday, Feb. 18, 2021, the battle of life ended at the Dorn VA Medical Center.

He received his education in the public schools of Sumter and was a 1973 Sumter High School graduate. He served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged.

His survivors are his mother, Claudia Gregg of Sumter; a daughter, Amanda (Alfred Jr.) Conyers of Sumter; four grandchildren, Tayliah Carter of Georgia and Aashad Carter, Ahmari Conyers and Londyn Conyers, all of Sumter; two sisters, Sallie (Ron) Cheatman of Phenix City, Alabama, and Claudine (Kenny) Greene of Columbia; two brothers, Willie Lee (Winifred) Gregg of Columbus, Georgia, and Larry (Shirley) Gregg of Lynchburg; a special friend, Frankie Brannon of Columbia; and a host of relatives.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 6:30 p.m. today at Kingdom Builders Church, 621 W. Liberty St., Sumter.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday at Fort Jackson National Cemetery, Columbia.
