Joseph "Jay" Anthony Lamoureux, age 82, beloved husband of Veronica "Roni" Marchio Lamoureux, died unexpectedly on Saturday, May 27, 2023, at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital.

Born in Norwich, Connecticut, he was a son of the late William and Lucille Dugas Lamoureux. Jay served as a member of the U.S. Navy, retiring with more than 20 years of service. After his military career, he founded and operated a well-respected, successful floor sanding business in Richmond, Maine. Jay lived life to the fullest. From traveling the entire eastern coastline by boat to long road trips from Maine to Alaska, it was all done while listening to the oldies but goodies with Roni, his best friend and wife of 46 years, by his side. He was an aviation enthusiast and a car racing fan. Jay had a passion for muscle cars and anything that was loud and fast. His true joy in life came from spending time with his family and friends. His entire adult life he rose early in the morning to enjoy time with friends over coffee. He treasured their time together and their friendship deeply. He will be remembered as a kind and generous man who loved to laugh and who never met a stranger. He was a devoted husband who was proud of all of his children and grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his wife, Veronica, he is survived by two sons, Joseph "Jay" of Richmond, Maine, and William "Bill" of Great Falls, Montana; a daughter, Sheila of Hobe Sound, Florida; one sister, Leanne Dillian of Myrtle Beach; and six grandchildren, Dustin, Andrea, Tayla, Hunter, Braeden and Adriana.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Andrea Lamoureux.

An informal gathering to celebrate Jay and share stories will be held from noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday at Bullock Funeral Home.

An inurnment will take place in the Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
