Joseph Paul Youmans, 70, husband of Harriett Grooms Youmans, died on Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2020, at his home.

Born on March 13, 1950, in Walterboro, he was a son of the late John E. and Lizzie Ellen McMillan Youmans. He was the former owner of ASAP Express and Jim's Lawn Service and formerly employed by Laidlaw Environmental Services.

Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Melissa Arm (Jeff) of Sumter, Stacey Coker (Chris) of Summerton, Renee Burrows (Paul) of Alcolu and Stephanie DuBose (David Burrows) of Sumter; nine grandchildren, Michelle Bunch, Breanna Hamilton, Kaitlin Koone, Karla Koone, Johnathan Burrows, Ethan Burrows, Cody Burrows, Christian DuBose and Jordan DuBose; three great-grandchildren, Sam, Hayden and Grady; a sister, Llewellyn Youmans of Cottageville; and two special nieces, Cindy Flood of Walterboro and Debbie Smith of San Antonio, Texas.

Mr. Youmans was known for the true love and dedication he had for his family. He always put his wife and four girls before anything else. He also had a special little buddy named Sox. Sox, his dog, was his best friend and he loved her dearly.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Clyde Youmans, Bill Youmans and Jimmy Youmans; and a sister, Ethel Youmans.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Bobby Driggers officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Memorial Park cemetery.

Pallbearers will be grandsons, Christian DuBose, Jonathan Burrows, Ethan Burrows, Cody Burrows, Jerad Inman and D.J. Carraway.

Honorary pallbearer will be Breanna "Tootie" Hamilton.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home of his daughter, 630 Godwin St.
