CAMDEN - A celebration of life service for Julian Ray Burt, 83, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Powers Funeral Home with inurnment to follow at Fort Jackson National Cemetery.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the National Kidney Foundation.

Mr. Burt passed away Friday, Sept. 20, 2019.

Born in Cleveland, Tennessee, he was a son of the late Daniel Harrison Burt and Bessie Dean Wales Burt. Mr. Burt retired after 22 years from the U.S. Air Force, serving during Vietnam. He was a member of Alice Drive Baptist Church of Sumter and the Camelia Club. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking, sports and fishing.

Surviving are his wife of 27 years, Teresa Kaye Caulder Burt; children, Juli Ann Dubose (Tommy), Cheri Cresswell (the Rev. Rick), Cherri Medeiros, Gordon "Gordy" Medeiros Jr. (Melanie), Kim Vestal (Wayne) and Julie Luther (Chris); grandchildren, Danielle, Kaitlyn, Shelley, Olivia, McKenzie, Ryan, Josh, Drew, Zack, Tripp, Sawyer and Hucksley; siblings, Urline Steele, Glynn Burt, Daniel Burt (Beverly), Larry Burt (Lynn) and Neil Burt (Linda); and a special nephew, Steven Steele.

He was predeceased by a son, Forrest Michael Burt; a sister, Faith Burt; and a sister-in-law, Pauline Burt.
