Karen Ann Watford Reece, 58, wife of Eddie Lamar Reece Sr., passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2019, at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital.

Born on Nov. 9, 1960, in Sumter, she was a daughter of Frank Watford Sr. and Mary Nesbitt Watford. She was a member of New Testament Lighthouse Church. Karen was very active in many music ministries in the surrounding area. She played the guitar and sang with many local Christian groups, and regularly performed at the Country Music Barn, the Button Museum and local nursing facilities.

Survivors include her husband of Wedgefield; her parents of Sumter; three sons, Eddie Lamar Reece Jr. (Miranda) of Sumter, Matthew Reece (Savannah) of Wedgefield and Joshua Reece of Sumter; a granddaughter, Hannah Grace Reece; godchildren, Seth Speziale, Aidan Speziale and Krystal Speziale; two brothers, Willis Watford Jr. (Mary) and Ronnie Watford, all of Sumter; nephews, Frankie, Adam, Ethan, Wyatt, Brett, Vince, Joey, Rodney, Josh and Wayne; nieces, Tori, Angie, Kandi and Amber; and a number of great-nieces and great-nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Mark Huggins (assistant pastor of New Testament Lighthouse Church) and the Rev. Gene Gilbert (pastor of Jefferson Road Freewill Baptist Church) officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Memorial Park cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Matthew Reece, Eddie Reece, Josh Reece, Frankie Watford, Adam Watford and Ethan Watford.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and following the service in the fellowship hall at New Testament Lighthouse Church, 1114 Boulevard Road.
