Kathryn Hatfield Godwin, age 92, widow of Richard A. Godwin Sr., died on Sunday, Sept. 5, 2021.

Born on Sept. 16, 1928, in Florence, she was a daughter of the late Lucian Herbert Hatfield Sr. and Ruth McPherson Hatfield. She graduated from Edmunds High School. She was a Boy Scout den mother, Sunday school teacher and nursery worker. She retired from Campbell Soup, where she organized the Campbell Soup retirement luncheons, retirement tours and reunions in 1991 and continued with monthly meetings for 26 years.

She is survived by her sons, Douglas T. Foxworth, Richard "Ric" A. Godwin Jr. (Julie) and Timothy "BooBoo" B. Godwin (Cindy), all of Sumter, and Jonathan O. Godwin (Donna) of Memphis, Tennessee; her daughter, Kathie Lynn Armstrong (Steve) of Louisville, Kentucky; 10 grandchildren, Shannon Gradwell, Timothy G. Godwin, Richard "Richie" Godwin, Candace Emmendorfer, Kayla Godwin, Michelle Johnson, Amy Weathers, James L. Armstrong III, Joshua Armstrong and Brian Armstrong; 19 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday at Bullock Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Steve Miller officiating. A private burial will be held at Evergreen Memorial Park cemetery.
