Hobson Owen "Kenny" Creel, 61, husband of Kathie Nichols Creel, died on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2019, at his home.
Born on Aug. 17, 1957, in Sumter, he was a son of the late Maxie B. and Tasker Louise Martin Creel. He was a member of Crosswell Baptist Church and the Seekers Sunday School Class. He was formerly employed as a mechanic for the City of Sumter and was a self-employed small engine mechanic.
Survivors include his wife of 35 years; six children, Savannah Williams (Troy), Michael Shepard (Jeanne), Stephanie D. Tisdale, Katina Terlep, Amanda Creel and Timothy J. Bradley; grandchildren, Madison Williams, Kerrigan Williams, Dalton Williams, Samantha Geddings (Zach), Lacey Tisdale, Cierra Tisdale, Whitney Tisdale, Dakota Tisdale, Lani Terlep, Jordan Terlep, Paige Grisham and Drake Tindal; great-grandchildren, Achilles Sabaratnam, Carson Geddings and Bryson Grisham; and two sisters, Linda Coffey and Dianne Creel.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Paul Creel, Sam Creel and Wayne Creel.
A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday at Evergreen Memorial Park cemetery with the Rev. Charles Owens officiating.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home.
