MANNING - On Thursday, Aug. 1, 2019, the Rev. Kenya Brock, pastor of Bethel AME Church, exchanged his rugged cross for his precious crown at McLeod Health Clarendon.

Born on Nov. 19, 1969, in Clarendon County, he was a son of the late Lonell Felder and Betty Brock Walker and stepson of the late Albert Walker.

A service celebrating his life will take place at 11 a.m. on Saturday at William McKinley Parker Gymnasium, located on the campus of Manning Elementary School, 311 W. Boyce St., Manning, where the Rev. Eddie L. Gaston Jr., presiding elder of the Manning District AME Church, will preside. The Right Rev. Samuel L. Green Sr., presiding prelate of the Seventh Episcopal District of the AME Church, will bring words of consolation. The service of committal will follow at the Brock family plot, located in the Society Hill AME Church Cemetery in the Jordan community of Manning.

Public viewing will take place from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Fleming & Delaine Chapel, 222 W. Boyce St., Manning.

The family is receiving relatives and friends from 4 to 8 p.m. at the residence, 1113 R. Johnson Road, Davis Station community of Manning.

Fleming & DeLaine Funeral Home and Chapel of Manning is in charge of these services.
