Sumter High School’s varsity girls basketball team advanced to the championship game in the Kay Yow Division of the CresCom Bank Holiday Invitational with a 36-25 victory over North Myrtle Beach on Friday.

Sumter High School’s varsity girls basketball team advanced to the championship game in the Kay Yow Division of the CresCom Bank Holiday Invitational with a 36-25 victory over North Myrtle Beach on Friday.

Senior guard Tamerah Brown led the way with 12 points while Junior forward Layken Cox added 10.

Sumter will face Northwest Guilford (NC) on Saturday (Dec. 15) at 2:15 p.m. The Lady Vikings finished 22-6 last year before losing in the quarterfinals of the North Carolina 4A state playoffs. They are 7-1 overall this season.

The Lady Gamecocks enter the championship game 10-1 overall.
