“Caleb Floyd died at the scene from multiple blunt-force traumas to the head and body,” Clarendon County Coroner Bucky Mock said.
Floyd was travelling north on Barrineau Road around 12:35 a.m. when the 2008 GMC sport utility vehicle that he was driving ran off the road, striking a ditch and tree, said Cpl. Sonny Collins with the South Carolina High Patrol.
“The driver was the only occupant in the vehicle,” Collins said. “The driver was not wearing a seat belt and was killed as a result of the crash. This crash remains under investigation by the Highway Patrol.”
