Lakewood, Crestwood get region wins to lead Friday Night Scoreboard

Defense reigned supreme as Lakewood made the trip to Lake City on Friday night. The Gators went into the half with a 15-6 lead, which held up as neither team scored after the break.
The Gators snapped a 3-game losing streak and improved to 1-1 in Region VI-3A.
Lakewood got on the board when JaRae Mitchell found Brandon Cisse on a 5-yard slant. After a Lake City score, Gators ahead for good when Mitchell found Javell Jones for what became the game-winning touchdown in the second quarter.

The Crestwood football team improved to 5-2, 2-0 in Region VI-3A with a 33-26 win over Marlboro County on Friday. CHS scored in the final minute on a touchdown from Javion Marton to Anthony Steele, winning with a made PAT. Crestwood was able to add another score as Marlboro County desperately tried to find the end zone at the end. The Knights host Darlington next week.

Wilson Hall came out on the wrong side of a 35-31 thriller with Pee Dee Academy on Friday night. The Barons suffered their first loss against a SCISA 3A opponent as they fight for seeding at the top of the classification.

The Manning High football team improved to 6-1, 2-0 in Region VII-3A with a 49-8 win over Georgetown on Friday. They travel to Dillon for a battle of the top teams in the region next week.

The Laurence Manning football team improved to 5-2 with a 14-0 win over Porter Gaud on Friday. The Swampcats host Augusta Christian for homecoming next week.

Lee Academy improved to 6-0 with a 34-6 win over Calhoun Academy on Friday. The Cavaliers are back at home against Conway Christian next week.

The Thomas Sumter football team improved to 4-3 on the season with a 15-14 win over Palmetto Christian on Friday. TSA overcame a 14-3 deficit at the half for a comeback victory. The Generals host Spartanburg Christian on Friday.

The Clarendon Hall football team improved to 5-2 with a 39-8 win over Cross Schools on Friday. The Saints travel to Dorchester Academy next week.
