The Lakewood High School varsity girls soccer team opened its Region IV-4A schedule with a 6-0 win over Orangeburg-Wilkinson on Friday at J. Frank Baker Stadium.

Treasure Small had a hat trick of three goals to lead the Lady Gators, who improved to 4-0 on the season. She also had one assist.

Lacey McKenzie and Emily Cadena both had one goal and one assist. Itzel Ramirez and Mikia Harvin had two assists.

VARSITY SOFTBALL

Lakewood 20

Orangeburg-Wilkinson 5

Lakewood High School defeated Orangeburg-Wilkinson 20-5 in three innings in its Region IV-4A opener on Friday at the LHS field.

Kimberly Childers had three hits and drove in five runs for the Lady Gators. Cambrie DeBerry scored four times, while Anna Grace Fowler and Autumn Gibbons each scored three times.

JV SOFTBALL

ANDREWS - Laini Kosinski pitched a no-hitter to lead Laurence Manning Academy to a 16-1, 6-inning victory over Andrews High School on Friday at the AHS field.

Kosinski struck out 10 batters. Hailey Truett drove in three runs, while Hannah Williams and Emily Anderson had two hits apiece.

MOUNT PLEASANT - Thomas Sumter Academy opened its season with an 8-1 victory over Palmetto Christian Academy on Monday, March 9, at the PCA courts.

1 - Cameron Dixon (TSA) defeated Peyton Shaw 6-0, 6-1.

2 - Trayton Hill (TSA) defeated Ben Fletcher 6-0, 6-2.

3 - Avery Eddins (TSA) defeated John Parnell 6-1, 6-0.

4 - Graham Campbell (TSA) defeated Will Graf 6-2, 6-4.

5 - Preston Houser (TSA) defeated Kyler Stille 6-1, 6-3.

6 - Josh Fugate (TSA) won by forfeit.

DOUBLES

1 - Dixon/Hill (TSA) defeated Shaw/Fletcher 8-0.

2 - Eddins/Fugate (TSA) defeated Parnell/Graf 8-6.

3 - Houser/Logan Oxendine (TSA) won by forfeit.

VARSITY BASEBALL

LAKE CITY - Thomas Sumter Academy lost to Carolina Academy 2-1 on Friday at the CA field.

Sam Lawing pitched four innings for the Generals, who fell to 1-5. He had six strikeouts and had one of TSA's five hits.

JV BASEBALL

Laurence Manning 5-20

Providence Athletic 1-2

COLUMBIA -- Laurence Manning Academy swept a doubleheader from Providence Athletic Club on Saturday at the PAC field, winning by the scores of 5-1 and 20-2.

Cameron Baker got the win for LMA in the opener, pitching four scoreless innings while allowing two hits and striking out seven. Jackson Clemmons pitched the final three innings.

Tyler June led the LMA offense with three hits.

In the second game, Laurence Manning had 18 hits. Bryson Hodge led the way with three hits, while Davis Campbell, Bryson Smith, Joe Wilson, Henry Durant and Chappell Brogdon had two hits apiece.

TJ Hicks was the winning pitcher. He allowed three hits and two runs over four innings, walking none.
