Sumter boys win Optimist Relays
Sumter High School won the boys portion of the Sumter Optimist Relays on Saturday at Memorial Stadium.
The Sumter boys won with 109 points, while Stratford was second with 93.50.
Irmo won the girls meet with 86 points, while Sumter was second with 81.
Winners for the Sumter boys were Ja'kheem heyward in the long jump, Jaleel Carr in the high jump, the 4x800-meter relay team of Theron Bradford, Noah Bradford, Dylan Vance and Jakarriez Sanders, the 4x400 team of Vance, Theron Bradford, Anthony Dinkins-McCall and Lodaine Redwood, and the 4x100 team of Heyward, Dinkins-McCall, Robert McKnight and Melvin Lundy.
Winners for the Sumter girls were the sprint medley team of Niya Womack, Kalieah Moten Ebony Douglas and Kayla Greene, Greene in the high jump and Alicia Spann in the discus.
Crestwood's Sedajah Rembert won the triple jump.

ORANGEBURG - Lakewood High School opened its Region IV-4A schedule with a 4-0 win over Orangeburg-Wilkinson on Friday at J. Frank Baker Stadium.
Treasure Smalls led the Lady Gators with two goals. Lacey McKenzie and Emily Cadena each scored a goal.
Shelby Brown had four saves in goal.
VARSITY BOYS SOCCER
HARTSVILLE - Sumter High School lost to Hartsville 3-0 on Monday at the HHS field.
The Gamecocks fell to 5-3 on the season.
Wilson Hall 10
LAKE CITY - Wilson Hall defeated Carolina Academy 10-6 on Monday at the CA field.
Olivia Beasley and Kaylin Boudreau both had three hits to lead the Lady Barons. Ava Sliwonik and Sullivan Jarecki had two hits apiece.
Aubrey Payne was the winning pitcher, striking out six in five innings.
