The Laurence Manning Academy boys bowling team won its third consecutive state title in the SCISA Team Championships on Thursday at Gamecock Lanes.
The Swampcats won with a 3-game total of 534 points in the championship round. Heathwood Hall was second with 494, while Cardinal Newman was third at 462 and Thomas Sumter Academy fourth at 381.
LMA had a 61-pin lead entering the final game.
MS BASKETBALL
Alice Drive 58
Furman 35
The Alice Drive Middle School boys basketball team ran its record to 10-1 non the season with a 58-35 victory over Furman on Thursday at the FMS gymnasium.
Marquis Lane-Owens led the Hawks with 12 points. Nakeem Isaac had seven and Bryan McCants finished with five.
Manning 60
Bates 55
Bates’ Kayshaun Boyd and Zyeir Gamble combined for 42 points, but Bates still lost to Manning Junior High 60-55 on Thursday at the BMS gymnasium.
Boyd led Bates with 22 points. Gamble finished with 20.

BISHOPVILLE – Lee Central remained undefeated on the season with a 42-27 victory over Kingstree Junior High on Thursday at the LCMS gymnasium.
Travon Pearson led the Stallions with a triple-doubles of 12 points, 10 rebounds and 10 blocked shots.

SUMMERTON – Randy Gibson and Tyriq Coard both scored 16 points to lead Scott’s Branch to a 69-36 victory over C.E. Murray on Thursday at the SB gymnasium.
Tyler Kind added eight points for the Eagles, while Zakee Rendell and Shaheem Ballard both had si.

Sumter High School defeated South Florence 42-14 on Thursday at the SHS gymnasium.
Marcus Lane led the Gamecocks with nine points. Jamal Peoples and Dyson Roberts both had six.
B TEAM BASKETBALL
Thomas Sumter 36
Northside Christian 18
Brandon Burns scored 12 points to lead Thomas Sumter Academy to a 36-18 victory over Northside Christian on Thursday at Edens Gymnasium.
Sammy Kessinger added eight points and three steals for TSA, while Chris Howes had seven points and eight rebounds. Randall Bock grabbed nine rebounds.

COLUMBIA – Laurence Manning Academy defeated Hammond 50-45 in double overtime on Thursday at the Hammond gymnasium.
Brandon King led LMA with 20, while Colin Yates had 10. The Swampcats improved to 4-0.

SUMMERTON – Clarendon Hall improved to 4-1 with a 40-32 victory over Patrick Henry on Thursday at the CH gymnasium.
Kole Elliott led the Saints with 21 points. Wilder Robinson had eight and William Rogan added six.
On Wednesday in Summerton, Clarendon Hall defeated Holly Hill 31-15. Rogan led the way with 12 points. Elliott had 10 and Trey Bagnal added seven.

SUMMERTON – Scott’s Branch High School lost to Bethune-Bowman 61-52 on Tuesday at the SB gymnasium.
Marquis Thomas led the Eagles with 16 points, while Terrence Yon added 13. Amonte Brown and Daezhon Dingle both had seven.
Baxton Wedgeworth had 18 to lead B-B. Rackwon Richburg added 17 and Roderick Pam had 10.
