The Lee County Public Library Community Health Hub is holding a Community Appreciation Day in Bishopville next week.
The celebration will be on Wednesday, July 14, at the library's Annex Building on 116 N. Nettle St. from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. to celebrate the health hub’s success in providing free health services in the community. There will be food, door prizes, free books and more.
The library established this new health hub in March to improve health care assistance and services with a health care worker on site every Wednesday. The health hub has had more than 814 encounters since March, according to a news release. The hub offers services including COVID-19 vaccines, mammogram/prostate screenings, job placement, food assistance, health education and more to Lee County residents.
