Lee County School District is offering its students a chance to participate in an art contest sponsored by the Parent Advisory Council.

The theme is "My Parents - Their Music," and it is designed to honor the heritage of music passed down by parents and grandparents. Students are asked to illustrate in a painting, drawing or photograph their interpretation of the music of their relatives.

Winners of the art contest will be announced at the PAC meeting at 6 p.m. Monday, March 25. First-place prize is $75; second place is a $50 gift card; and third place is a $25 gift card. The first-place winner's work will be displayed at the LCSD office.

Only one entry per student is allowed, and the students must be currently enrolled or home-schooled. The contest is open to students of all ages. The registration, application and photo of the art piece must be submitted and received by the LCSD office no later than Friday, March 15.
