A graveside service for Lee Roy Williams will be held on Friday at Mayesville Community Cemetery in Mayesville with the Rev. Frederick Graves officiating.

The public may view from 1 to 5 p.m. today at Palmer Memorial Chapel, Sumter.

Mr. Williams departed this earthly life on Sunday, July 5, 2020, at Prisma Health Richland Hospital in Columbia.

Born on June 19, 1958, in Sumter County, he was a son of the late Geneva Williams. Mr. Williams was a former member of St. Mark United Methodist Church in Mayesville. He was a graduate of Mayewood High School Class of 1976. Lee Roy served our country in the United States Marine Corps and was honorably discharged in 1981. He was employed by Martin Color-Fi for more than 15 years and at Dorn VA Medical Center in Columbia.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his son, Bacari Peterson; a brother, Curtis Williams; a sister, Cynthia Ann Hill; and grandmother, Maebelle Williams.

Survivors include three children, Tamara (David) Tate and Shawndolyn James, both of Sumter, and Tyrone Rembert of Los Angeles, California; two grandchildren, Andrea James and Aiden James of Sumter; and a host of other relatives and friends.
