The Lemira Golden Steppers hosted their 2nd-annual Share the Warmth Winter Drive in December and delivered an early Christmas gift of 31 bags filled with coats, socks, scarves, blankets, gloves and hats to the homeless throughout the City of Sumter. The Golden Steppers, along with librarian Emilia Jackson, coordinated the competition to see which class could donate the most winter items. Marlene Levine's second-grade class won the drive with 153 donated items.
